Let them eat cake!

Birthday’s require cake. And lucky for us, the Barkery makes them. Great, because I’m not entirely sure how to make a dog cake. (Note to self, look into cake.)

Indy was a goof for a change. She daintily picked at it in her bowl…

Then proceeded to spread it all over the floor.

Don’t worry, she cleaned up after herself. No crumb left untouched.

We shared with Vasey, of course. Her name was on the cake too! I’m not sure she’s ever had cake before. But she was happy to eat it.

Beowulf being the pig that he is decided to show the ladies how one should eat cake. By putting the entire piece in your mouth at once.

His silly ears get in the way of the pictures. Darn ears.

Finally, we tried to pose the girls for a picture. They were not really in the mood…

Well, maybe just Indy wasn’t…

It’s Vet Day!

Two of three doggies are going to the vet today. That means in the past week, all of them have been. Great.

Beowulf is going in to have, um, his peeing issue checked out. They’ll do tests to see if there is something up other than incontinence and stubborn slob issues.

Gryffin is having some stuff chopped off. He’s had a growth on his front leg (passenger side) for a while now. The vet has said that it’s not something to be worried about, but it’s to the point where it bothers him if it’s touched. And we’ve been worried about it getting caught on something. If you look closely, you can see the gray spot on his black fur in this pic.

He’s not going completely under for it, and we were able to feed him this morning. He’ll basically get pumped up on puppy valium so he’s relaxed and isn’t hurt when they remove it.

I’m going to be nervous and worried until I can go home tonight and hug him.

Frustrations, frustrations, and more frustrations!

We might have made progress with the basset and his feeding, but we have NOT figured out the peeing. It’s very frustrating.

I received a call this morning from my hubby (who works at home now and I am jealous) that went something like this…

DH: YOUR dog is driving me nuts. He’s at it again.
ME: Which is mine?
DH: Beowulf. He peed in front of the fridge again.
ME: Oh no.
DH: It gets worse. Then I went into the basement and found it was dripping downstairs into a pile of your clean laundry. Which means it’s now all over the floor boards and everything.
ME: Oh *insert expletive here*!!! I think it’s time to talk to the vet.

So, he FINALLY has a vet appointment. I’m wondering how they plan on getting a urine sample to test. IMO, there’s just too much of it too often to be considered incontinence, but we have to check.

Sigh.

Happy Birthday!

Beowulf is 12 today! He had a special peanut butter and carob birthday cupcake, and I have a picture. However, Dan’s office is kind of in chaos right now. His desk is in pieces in the garage, we have ordered a new one, and we are getting new carpeting next week. My point is that I cannot find the mini USB cable, so I cannot show you the pictures I took today. When I find them, I will post them. Instead, you get a cute picture from Gryffin’s birthday in April.
