Weekend Fun!

So, how’d your dogs do with all the July 4th festivities? I expected Gryffin to be fine and Beowulf to freak out. Indy was the wild card. I was surprised that she did very well!

Friday the 3rd had many fireworks in our area. The Basset was nervous and barky. Nobody else was.

July 4th had all sorts of stuff. We had a parade at 12:45pm. All dogs came with. Indy was nervous with the people at first, but since I let everyone feed her treats and Chex Mix, she did extremely well. She let kids and adults pet her. Not always on the head, but she didn’t freak out! The musket fire didn’t bother her at all, either. She pretty much ignored all the loud noises except for barking dogs.

After the parade, we had neighbors over on the porch. It was raining, so it was the ideal spot. All of the dogs were out with us for a little while, and we had neighbors over that Indy hasn’t met. Imagine my surprise when she was seeking out strange men–not for weird stuff–just to be pet ON THE HEAD. What happened to my shy dog? Seriously! She’s been in heat since Thursday the 2nd, and her personality this time around is more loving and outgoing than shy and skittish. Did someone swap her out with another Swissy?
