Puppy Presents?

There was a thread on one of the forums I belong to regarding what to get your dog for Christmas this year. I discussed it with the dogs, and here’s what we came up with.
1. Unlimited amounts of food. All types, especially Portillo’s Chocolate Cake. (That was mainly Alex.) We are having our annual holiday party on Saturday night, so I think their chance of extra food is pretty high.
2. The little shit-poo or pomer-poo or whatever-poo dogs from up the street. They really want to chew on them, and they’re fairly sure there’s a squeaky to be had.
3. A new Kong Wubba. Indy loves the one she was given earlier this year, but she doesn’t share very well.
4. Nylabones, or other similar style chewable bones. We have a couple that are a different brand that are shaped in a T. Both Swissies like them, and the Basset likes them when it means the other dogs cannot have them.
5. Skinneeez toys. These are something I really recommend. They are stuffing-free toys in the shape of various animals. They have skunk, fox, raccoon and squirrel. Your dogs can rip them apart if they want (ours haven’t yet) and there is no stuffing to spread all over the house. They do have squeakies on the inside.
6. A giant jar of peanut butter. ‘Nuff said.
7. An orthopedic bed. I got a huge bed at Target a few weeks ago (on sale!) for Gryffin that is filled with memory foam. He loves it. If the beds are too pricey and you know how to sew, go to a home store and get one of the twin size memory foam mattress toppers, cut it in half, then make 1 or 2 beds out of it. I’ve seen the toppers as low as $15.
8. Homemade dog treats. Or something similar. We have Happy Dog Barkery in Downers Grove, so I will buy extra stuff from there for our dogs this year. And I will likely put together a few bags/stockings for a few other dogs that I love.
9. A new tennis ball. Never under estimate the joy of a simple toy. Heck, even a sock will do, as long as you can keep them from ingesting it.
10. Obedience class. This may come as a shock to you, but I think many dogs enjoy obedience class. They’re working and doing a job. And when they’re trained well, they are praised more and scolded less, which is always a good thing for your dog (and you)!

I love that pic of Thea!
I just got my dogs 2 new skineez toys. Eris had the nose gone out of the skunk in less than 5 minutes. The little wench! Now they can not have unlimited access to the toys because of her. They are not HEAVY DUTY
Is true…they are not heavy duty. Ours will de-stuff a similar type of toy with stuffing w/in a few minutes. They have not ripped these at all.
