I finally gave in

A few friends got these a while ago. Some of you will recognize it. After a month or two of hemming and hawing, I finally gave in and bought a Molly Mutt Duvet and Stuff Sack.

We have quite a few beds around here, and the ultimate bed, aka the couch. I wanted to wait until one of them bit the dust before I bought another. And the Molly Mutt idea was a great one. Thankfully, it was not the couch that bit the dust.

The idea behind them is that you fill up the duvet with old things (clothing, towels, pillows) from around your house. You can put them in a stuff sack, or just fill the duvet up. I opted for a stuff sack because I thought it would be easier to clean.

I found all sorts of stuff and filled it up. Clothes I was going to recycle, old towels and sheets. I did take the old boots out of the recycle bag before I dumped it in. For the best, really.

Then I stuffed the sack in the duvet and got this.

As with any new bed in the house (except for the couch) it takes some prodding to get the dogs to try it. I think they were confused as this one smelled quite a bit like me. (Could be an interesting idea for a dog with separation anxiety, I guess.) Gryffin was the first to try it out.

I think it’s safe to say he likes it.

It made him sleepy.

Nothing but the best for my kids.

And then this happened.

And this.

And they forgot about the new bed for a few minutes.

I’m curious to see how well it washes. More later, I guess.
