High Maintenance Swissy

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009 | Indigo

Holy cow! I would like to know what is with Ms. Indigo this week. Especially on Wednesday night.

The weather in this area has been nice and cool, so they’ve been getting more outdoor time with us than normal. So perhaps she was expecting more than what I was willing to give. But seriously, what the heck got into her last night?

I got home a little later than normal (I needed reblonding, you see) and she was not pleased. And then I had the extreme error in judgment regarding my dinner. I ate it instead of petting her, coddling her, cooing over her, and giving her my dinner. So I gave her some love and attention. Then I moved up to the computer, and it escalated.

Normally when I sit there and mess around, she will grunt a few times, then give up and plop herself behind my chair. Not yesterday. She pounced on me, pawed me, and then licked the insides of my elbows incessantly. It tickles a lot. And it makes me itchy. Lucky for me, Dan called her for dinner, so she was out of my hair (quite literally) for a few minutes.

I thought it would continue into the evening, but somehow I got a reprieve. While I was working out in front of the telly (painful intervals) she and Gryffin had a very active game of mouth wrestling. Very cute, except I kept turning around to look at them and almost killed myself a few times.

Well, that was Wednesday night. I wonder what pleasures the rest of the week will hold.

Just a quick reminder…as mention in Wednesday’s post, we’re giving away a nice, new, Ruff Wear pack! So comment away! You can enter multiple times by commenting more than once. Even for the same post!

That’s all for now!

Maybe it was a full moon last night because Toby was a mouthing, barking, furniture-chewing ball of energy last night as well!

Um, is there a Swissy that is NOT high maintenance?

I’m glad I’m not the only one with a attention w#@&e Swissy! ;) Whenever we’re relaxing on the couch/bed/whatever Odyn thinks our time could be better spent petting and loving on him. If we’re watching TV he will sit or stand right in front of our faces so we can’t see the TV anymore and divert our attention to him. Even if we don’t pay attention to him he’ll move his head around like ‘can you not see now? how about now?’ Or he’ll just plop his fat head on our chests in one last attempt for lovin’.

And of course, we always give in which is why he keeps doing it.. I’m not complaining, I love that he loves the attention. Better then an antisocial dog, that’s why I have cats! :D

….and how old is Indigo? I am trying to get Chai (6 mo.) to sit on her “couch” while I sit at the dinner table and/or at the computer table and she does well sometimes but other times she is right on me and wants to help clean my plate or type.

Indy is 18 months. She’s normally great when I eat, especially seeing I sit in front of the TV instead of using an actual dining table. But she was in a special mood last night.

Ruger LOVES the computer as well. Greg and I have lap tops that we use on the couch and both Duke and Ruger love to pop their heads inbetween us and our screens. Ruger even sent an email to Greg’s boss one evening. She managed to get a lot of gibberish in and then the enter key just sent it off. :)
