Happy Thanksgiving!

With the holidays comes baking.

I don’t think I’ve baked anything that’s required a mixer since we’ve had Indy. I was mixing up pie filling (chocolate peanut butter cheese cake if you’re wondering…) last night. I had Indy outside during it, but brought her back in when the mixer was still out. She took a stance around 5 feet away, bracing herself for its’ inevitable attack, and barked ferociously. It was obviously evil and not there before…so she must alert me. It was quite cute.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. Life is short, no matter how much it seems to drag by sometimes, so make sure you let your loved ones know that they are, well, loved. Including your animals. And hopefully, they’ll reciprocate. Enjoy the turkey, pie, potatoes, etc.

I’m going to go run a 5k now.

What a hoot! It cracks me up when dogs are terrified of strange new noises.

I’m not sure she’s terrified of it. They are kind of a sentry breed, so she was really trying to let me know there was something different. She never barked at the crock pot or VitaMix, so I’m not sure if it’s her age or what. It was hilarious in any event.

I’m an avid baker so out kitchen aid lives on the counter all the time and Thea is used to it. But when I pulled out the bread maker the other day and it started kneading, she was a little unsure of that . It’s crazy what these dogs will alert to!
