Oooh free stuff! I mean what else do you need to make people take notice. Admitting right now this is the first time I’ve stopped by…but blogging for a whole year is an achievement. I never got further than what 3 weeks? My life is simply not interesting enough to blog about LOL. But I will check in now, and see what’s up with you and yours!

In all seriousness, I’ve been reading your blog for 9 months now, since we decided that a Swissy was going to be our next dog and it’s been a great resource to reassure us that we aren’t going crazy and that Toby is just a typical Swissy and not some nutcase spazoid that should be heavily medicated. (His first REAL zoomie had us scratching our heads trying to figure out what mental disorder he had lol).

SLS is just two day’s shy of sharing my B-day as well! Happy birthday to all of us!

Hey, let’s all post a couple of Swissy “quirks”…I will start. This past weekend I rearranged my living room and Bosley did not like all the furniture moving around and stuff, he kept getting in between me and the pieces of furniture I was trying to move. As part of this process (my living, dining, kitchen area is all one big space since I am in a loft), I moved his set of drinking and eating bowls to another part of the kitchen. HE DID NOT LIKE THE IDEA AT ALL. He barked at them repeatedly and for one entire day would not eat or drink from the bowls!! I finally gave up and moved them back to the original spot!!

That’s funny, Maralyn. Neither Indy nor Gryff have a problem with food or water bowl relocation, which is good since we just went through kitchen construction. But Indy will bark/baroo her head off if we move something or put something new in a place she is already familiar with. Both get quite annoyed with us if we close the bathroom door while in use. They need to have access to us. I think they like the captive audience.

Yes, we have the bathroom door issue too…since I live alone, I leave it open naturally, but when guests are over, I close it and Bosley does not accept that at all. Something else that happened the other day was a neighbor left her big golden doodle home alone and he was barking his head off, which Bosley usually ignores, but the other night the barking was incessant so Bosley stuck his down to the open window and gave this dog a couple of “shut up” barks…it worked!!!! (turned out the dog was ill and had thrown up in his crate and that is why he was barking so much)…or, maybe they were “Get well” barks…ha ha ha

Swissys all look good in red! Every time I see a picture of Indy, I’m amazed at how much she looks like Thea…it’s not just her narrow blaze and darker markings…something about the expression in her eyes reminds me of Thea too. Gorgeous dogs!!

While I don’t always comment – but I have a couple of times I really enjoy checking in on your blog to see what’s happening and look at the newest and greatest pics of your pups.

Have you found a “Brat” collar for Toby yet? He’s living up to that title!

Would it be wrong of me to spike Toby’s water bowl so he sleeps through the night? Being woken up every 2 hours so he could go outside wasn’t fun last night… Not fun at all…

No, but I’ll see if I can find some fabric at the store next week.

Is he having GI issues again? Or was he just energetic?

I have no clue what the problem was. It’s the first time it’s ever happened so we’ll see how he’s doing tonight. He ended up sleeping for 4 hours straight at the end of the night, so here’s hoping it was just something he ate and his body wanted to get out of his system. (he’s been eating tomatoes and cucumbers from the garden recently… Some straight from the plants, some that have fallen on the ground.)

Gryffin was waking us up for months at the same time every night. He got into a habit, probably because we praised him for waking us up when he was sick. He does periodically wake me up just so I will pet him. They are weird dogs.

I’d love to win it, but I think it would fit me better than Mya! ha. Just wanted to say Congrats on the Birthday, and hopefully the pack will come in handy to someone =]
