Doggy Diapers

I’m on a quest to find more interesting and less expensive diapers/pants for Indy.

I’ve been searching high and low for something interesting, yet not extremely frilly, for Indy to wear. I found a few people on Etsy who sell them, but they seem to focus on the toy breeds. Indy is not that small. We need multiple sets as it seems like at least one of them is always in the laundry. PetSmart and the other places charge about $25 for the denim stuff Indy has been wearing. They are good, but $25? We need to have multiple. Granted, they are washable, but that’s quite a bit of money, and I don’t expect they will last forever.

I know that whatever I find now, custom or otherwise, won’t be used until her next heat cycle. But it seems rather unfair that so much of the stuff available is for these little rat dogs (no offense to anyone that has them), instead of the large or giant breed dogs. I’m sure I can find more offerings with additional research. Actually, the Sew Crazy Dog Lady pointed me in the direction of The Snood Factory.

The Snood Factory’s largest size will fit Indy today. Will it fit her in 2 weeks (not that she’ll need them then)? I don’t know. She’s growing. They have some fun looking fabrics, yet not too frilly, and the prices are good. I have contacted them and they will make custom sizes, but I’m waiting to hear about cost and timing.

I’ll update with more info after I try a few more products. If anyone has any suggestions for decently priced, washable diapers, please comment or email me.

Happy Thursday!

Honestly, in a pinch,I’ve cut a hole in a pair of human undies.

I remember those days.. oh what fun.

Are you using.. um… pads in them? because I used only two pairs each for two dogs (who would invariably come into season at the same time)

I found the ones with wings work the best..

I have considered the human ones, but that means I would have to go buy them, as what I have isn’t really an ooption.

Yes, using pads. Standard ladies fair from Walgreens.
